CLINTON, Iowa (AP) — Officials in eastern Iowa’s Clinton County say visitors to the county courthouse in Clinton will be screened.
The Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that the screening by magnetometer and X-ray scanner will begin Wednesday. The increased security was ordered by the Board of Supervisors in late October 2012.
Visitors will be checked for weapons. The office also says personal electronic devices, including cellphones, must be set to silent operation so they don’t interfere with the court operations.
