WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a Waterloo woman was dragged by her vehicle a short distance after she got trapped underneath it.
The Waterloo Police Department says the woman was entering her car Wednesday morning. She reached down to pick something up on the ground with the driver’s door open.
Police say the car was in gear and began to back out of the driveway, knocking her down. The left front tire ran her over. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier (http://bit.ly/YVsx9W ) reports the car dragged the woman until it stopped across the street.
Police could not provide additional details about the accident. The woman’s name has not been released. The newspaper reports she was taken to a nearby hospital, but her condition was not available.
