New York, NY – A north Iowa high school choir made quite the impression when they performed at a famous venue.
The Mason City High School’s Concert Choir led by Joel Everist made a trip to New York to sing at Carnegie Hall. They performed “Bandari: Inside These Walls”, by composer Ben Allaway.
The performance went so well, they won the Gold Award. The students say it was a humbling experience over all.
“It was incredible to have been up on that stage and to know I’m sharing the same stage as some of the greatest performers that have ever walked this earth. It was incredible,” says Curtis Snell.
Choirs from all over the world were also there to perform including groups from Serbia and Puerto Rico.
