3 in IA plead not guilty to charges in dog’s death

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — All three people accused in the death of a dog whose carcass was found inside a portable kennel along a Waterloo road have pleaded not guilty to charges in the case.

Cedar Rapids television station KGAN-TV reports (http://bit.ly/YCDsG0) that Ty Hickman, A.J. Sellers and Kelsey Block all entered not guilty pleas in court this week to misdemeanor animal torture counts. All three have trials scheduled to begin this summer.

The dog was found inside a crate in Waterloo back in February. Doctors say it died of starvation, dehydration or both.
