Iowa man accused of kidnapping, domestic abuse

CLINTON, Iowa (AP) — Police say a 38-year-old Clinton man held his girlfriend prisoner in the home they share for days after assaulting her.

The Quad-City Times reports (http://bit.ly/YCCZUi) that Dewayne Patterson was arrested Thursday after his girlfriend met with police and said Patterson had assaulted her and held her against her will Monday through Thursday.

Clinton Police Capt. Tom Bohle says Patterson faces first-degree kidnapping and domestic abuse assault charges.

Patterson was convicted of misdemeanor in 2011 after assaulting his former wife.
