MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — An autistic teen who went missing from White Bear Lake this week has been found safe at a grocery store 20 miles away.
A St. Paul Pioneer Press report (http://bit.ly/ZeD504 ) says police aren’t sure how Kyle Christopher Conkler ended up in Minneapolis, but everyone’s just grateful for the positive outcome.
The 18-year-old works at the White Bear Lake police department. He left work Thursday afternoon but didn’t return home. He didn’t have money or a cellphone and he wasn’t dressed appropriately for the weather.
Conkler was found Friday evening in Minneapolis. White Bear Lake police Chief Lynne Bankes says it’s not clear what he’d been doing during the time he was missing, but he was safe and in good condition.
