Two seriously injured in accident

ALBERT LEA,, MN — Two people are seriously injured after a three car accident on Interstate 35 near Albert Lea.

The Minnesota State Patrol says two vehicles were southbound on I-35 when one attempted a lane change.

The second vehicle swerved to avoid being hit when it crossed through the median and hit a northbound vehicle.

Regina Holmes of Urbandale, Iowa, who was driving the northbound vehicle, and Dex Wright of Clive, Iowa, the passenger of that vehicle, were both seriously injured.

The other four involved either reported minor or no injuries.

Northbound I-35 was blocked off for about an hour while crews cleaned up.

The Albert Lea Police Department and the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
