2 Iowa men escape from jail, 1 back in custody

CLINTON, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are still searching for one of the two men who escaped from an eastern Iowa jail this weekend.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s office says Kendrell Antonio Keith and Kyle Charles Julian escaped around 4:40 p.m. Saturday. Both men are 18.

Witnesses reported that two men were seen running north away from the jail, and some orange jail clothing was found in the area.

Keith was captured at 11:49 p.m. Saturday in Clinton. He will be charged with escaping in addition to the original second-degree theft charge he faced.

Julian had not been found as of Sunday morning. He was originally charged with a felony probation violation.
