ALBERT LEA, Minn. — Bids for the Broadway Reconstruction and Streetscape project in Albert Lea came in around 500,000 dollars over the budget estimate.
It’s now projected to cost between 4.5 and 4.6 million dollars.
City leaders say they will offer more public input to see where they go from here.
“This is really the end point now,” Albert Lea City Manager Chad Adams said. “Where we have to make some decisions to award the contract and have the contractor move forward. So, this is really the last opportunity that the public has to provide input on what more they want to invest in the project or if we need to cut back on the project.”
Adams says the project will be discussed at tonight’s city council meeting.
That begins at seven.
