KIMT News 3 – One person, who never backed down from a political fight, was Margaret Thatcher.
In fact, she was known as “the Iron Lady.”
The former British Prime Minister was an icon of the 80s – known for teaming up with President Ronald Reagan and helping win the Cold War.
But her policies were also blamed for hurting some of Britain’s most vulnerable.
John Schmaltz, a Political Science Professor at NIACC, says it’s a legacy that will be remembered.
“Sort of a strong lady very much in the fore front. People she didn’t follow individuals. She set the tone. She set the mark, and really was an extraordinary lady,” sais Schmaltz.
Thatcher died at the age of 87.
