Austin, MN – Public transportation in one Southern Minnesota community is expanding.
Austin and Mower County Transit is extending the hours for some of their bus services. Starting on Monday, certain routes will have extended hours during the week and will add weekend shifts as well.
The change comes after a $100,000 dollar federal and state grant and a increase in demand from riders.
“”In Austin, we’re an elderly community, so this allows all of our seniors to be able to get out, do their grocery shopping. It gives them an independence when they no longer drive,” said Transit Coordinator Kelly Joseph.
