Charles City Press Release-

Darren Bohlen has been named as our head varsity football coach replacing Steve Stallsmith. Coach Bohlen graduated from Wartburg College in 1991 and played running back for the Knights. He has been inducted into the Wartburg Hall of Fame.  Darren started his coaching career in 1992.  He has held coaching positions at Huron University, South Dakota, South Dakota State University, Wartburg, Westmar, and has been on the Charles City coaching staff since 1998.  Coach Bohlen received his BA from Wartburg and his MS from South Dakota State University.  Darren brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and we are excited to promote him to the head coaching position.

Ryan Rahmiller has been named as the Comet head varsity track coach replacing Bruce Eldridge at the end of this season.  Coach Rahmiller attended Ellsworth Community College and the University of Northern Iowa (BA History, MA Ed. Admin). He has been at Charles City Schools as a middle school social studies teacher for 10 years, middle school boys track coach for 9 years, and head boys cross country for 9 years. His cross country teams have 7 state qualifying teams with 4- third place finishes, 5 individual state qualifiers, and a 3 time state champion, 32 all-NEIC runners and 1 team NEIC championship.  We are excited to have Coach Rahmiller to now lead both the boys cross and track programs.
