GARNER, IA – 36-year-old Luis Ramon Cruz-Ayabarreno of Jackson, Minnesota was charged with First Degree Robbery.
He was sentenced to serve up to 25 years in prison today in Hancock County District Court.
According to Hancock County Attorney David Solheim, Cruz-Ayabarreno will have to serve at least 17 and a half years since his crime is considered a forcible felony.
The charges stem from an incident on November 25th, 2011, when the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Klemme Town Mart in Klemme, Iowa.
Officers located and arrested Cruz-Ayabarreno. He was found guilty by a jury on February 28th, 2013.
