Albert Lea Man Arrested After Standoff

Freeborn County, MN – An Albert Lea man is being held after a standoff in Clarks Grove tonight. Around 7pm Monday, a Freeborn County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to stop a 36-year-old man who was wanted on several felony warrants. He led the Deputy on a short vehicle and then foot chase. He later barricaded himself in a shed behind a home in the 300 block of Main Street in Clarks Grove. After a standoff that lasted a little over an hour, the man surrendered. There was also a woman in the truck at the time of the incident. No one was injured. He is now at the Freeborn County Adult Detention Center pending formal charges. His name is not being released.
