ALBERT LEA, Minn. — A decision is expected on a project that would alter the look of downtown Albert Lea.
After months of feedback and work, the Albert Lea City Council is expected to vote on the Broadway Reconstruction and Streets cape Project tonight.
City officials took a step back a couple of weeks ago to assess the project after bids came in almost 500,000 dollars over budget.
Tonight’s decision would be a significant step forward for the project.
“Really this has been a vision the community put forth for the council and staff to achieve and accomplish,” Albert Lea City Manager Chad Adams said. “It’s a very significant step in the direction of not only the downtown, but the community.”
Tonight’s meeting starts at seven at the Albert Lea City hall.
