GARNER, IA – Nicholas Ulrich was sentenced today in Hancock County District Court after a two year investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. According to online court records, Ulrich plead guilty to two counts of burglary and one count of theft. He will serve up to 5 years in jail for Burglary in the 3rd degree and Theft in the 2nd degree. The sentences are to run concurrently. His fines were suspended as was a 10-year prison sentence for Burglary in the 2nd degree. Ulrich was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, control of a firearm by a felon and ongoing criminal activity. However, those charges were all dismissed.
Ulrich was involved in a series of crimes with two other men: Christopher Bachmann and Mark Gouge II. Gouge is scheduled to go to trial in June. Bachmann has not yet had his trial date set.
