Police arrested a Mason City teen early Tuesday morning after he was caught breaking into at least one vehicle.
Just after 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, a witness called police to alert them to a person dressed in all black and breaking into vehicles on the 400 block of North Madison Avenue. Officers located a person matching the description walking in the area. When the officer approached him, he took off.
Officers chased the teen through West Park. The juvenile attempted to lose police by darting underneath a moving train. Eventually he was cut off by officers on both sides of the train, so the teen dove into nearby Willow Creek. He was caught a short time later and arrested.
The teen faces charges of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Interference with official acts, and Trespassing on a railway property.
