CRESCO, IA – According to online court records, 33-year-old Malissa Farmer entered a written plea of guilty on March 25th. She was originally scheduled to go to trial on April 24th in Howard County District Court. She was sentenced to two years in prison and a fine of $625, both were suspended, and she will be placed on probation for two years. According to Howard County Attorney, Alex Koenigs, Farmer’s next court appearance will be for a misdemeanor charge for violating a no contact or protective order. In early February, Farmer and 35-year-old Daniel Padgett were arrested and charged in a conspiracy to kill Farmer’s ex-husband.
