FOREST CITY, IA – Earlier this month, a request was filed to have Thaddeus Ellenbecker’s sentence reconsidered. The state resisted the motion and, according to Winnebago County Attorney Adam Sauer, a judge has since denied the motion. In December, Ellenbecker was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison with the possibility of parole. He was convicted of setting fire to the Forest City Police Station and stealing a weapon from another officer. An appeal has been filed with the Supreme Court.
