ALBERT LEA, MN — Those lending a helping hand are getting recognized this week.
It’s part of National Volunteer Week.
It is designed to inspire, recognize and encourage people to get out and volunteer.
Locally, the Humane Society of Freeborn County is looking for those folks.
They are looking for volunteers to help care for cats and dogs at the shelter.
Humane Society leaders say it is a chance to make a difference.
“This is really a chance to step up and help us out with the cats and dogs down here,” Humane Society of Freeborn County Dee Amberg said. “And really do something terrific for the humane society.”
She adds if they do not get volunteers, they may have to limit the number of animals they can take in as a result.
