Mason City, IA – All week people around the area have been doing their part to better the environment.
And one man is looking to help North Iowa go solar.
People are gathering at Lime Creek Nature Center to hear what the state of Iowa is looking to do, to “Go Green”.
And one suggestion is to use more solar energy.
Bill Haman, from Iowa Energy Center, says the North Iowa area is perfect to soak up the benefits of solar energy.
And says from businesses to local neighborhoods, everyone can make good use from the switch.
“Solar energy is very easy to capture for your urban setting. Unlike wind turbines that are a little obstructive solar energy offers can fit into a neighborhood a lot easier,” said Haman.
Haman says now is the time to switch because prices to install the needed equipment are so low.
He says right now many farmers are looking to make the switch.
