CRESCO, Iowa – It took a while, but it finally feels like spring outside. Most people are welcoming the warm temperatures, especially one local business that has been waiting patiently.
Many greenhouses like Plantpeddler in Cresco are working fast to get their flowers ready to go.
Owners say that they have to do a months-worth of work in about 8 days because they got so far behind due to the cold spring.
“It has been really slow developing spring but it’s typical Midwestern Iowa weather, southern Minnesota weather, but we always catch up we’re at a frantic pace right now because for us of course mother’s day is the biggest event of the year,” says Mike Gooder, President of Plantpeddler.
The greenhouse supplies flowers and plants to many grocery stores and other businesses throughout north Iowa and southern Minnesota.
