CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — A state audit says a former concessions employee for the University of Northern Iowa pocketed hundreds of dollars from the school.
The report released Tuesday says 28-year-old James Kehl took $300 after a women’s basketball game in February 2012. Surveillance video shows Kehl, a former assistant concessions director, removing cash from a safe and putting it in his wallet.
The Des Moines Register (http://dmreg.co/ZUhBtL ) reports the audit flagged more than $17,000 deposited into Kehl’s personal bank account between 2007 and 2012. But the report says it can’t prove whether Kehl took additional money because concession records had been revised.
Kehl was later arrested and pleaded guilty last year to fourth-degree theft. He was given deferred judgment.
Records do not list a public number for Kehl.
