Osage Police Officer Suspended After Shooting

OSAGE, IA – An Osage Police was given a three day unpaid suspension after an off-duty shooting.

Osage Mayor Steve Cooper tells us he was notified Saturday morning by the chief of police about the incident. Authorities say officer Brad Evans was showing off a personal gun of his when it discharged and Hakkon Rosendahl in the hand. Rosendahl was taken to the Mitchell County Regional Health Care Center.

The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations looked into the incident. Wednesday, Officer Evans was given an unpaid suspension plus he will be required to attend firearms training.
