DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A mix of rain and snow from a spring storm will affect different parts of Iowa, but most of the snow is expected to melt quickly.
The National Weather Service says between 1 and 5 inches of snow has already fallen in a region that ranges from Sioux City toward the Minnesota state line near Spencer. An additional 2 inches could accumulate into Thursday.
In western Iowa, up to two inches of snow could hit around the Denison area between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Rain will move into central Iowa sometime Thursday, and it could switch back into snow by the evening, adding to the total snow accumulation.
Far eastern Iowa will see mostly rain into Friday, though cities like Charles City and Waterloo could get some snow.
