May Snow Trees Down

An unusual late season winter storm has struck North Iowa and Southern Minnesota. The storm has been dropping some very heavy snowfall, both in the sense of weight and snowfall totals.  This very wet snow has created some dangerous travel conditions and also brought many trees and branches down, further complicating travel.

Here are some of the latest snowfall reports from across the region.

  • Owatonna – 15.5″
  • Kasson – 13.0″
  • Albert Lea – 10.0″
  • Austin – 10.0″
  • Carpenter – 7.0″
  • Rochester – 6.5″
  • Forest City – 6.0″
  • Algona – 6.0″
  • St. Ansgar – 5.2″
  • Grand Meadow – 5.0″
  • Mason City – 4.5″
