MASON CITY, IA – Area students are coming together to get moving and develop healthy lifestyles.
More that 400 local students are walking it out as part of the Blue Zones project.
The weather forced the event to move indoors, but that isn’t stopping the kids from having a great time.
It’s all part of learning the benefits of exercise and healthy eating.
Hoover Elementary School Principal, Barbara Wells said, “Let’s start now with education and commitment and fun, because we don’t want all of this to be a job for them and I know through blue Zones, one of the main goals is to find activities that we can feel good about and want to do.”
Wells was also decked out in pink as a reward for students collecting pledges to raise money for school projects.
