WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — Nearly 200 people have attended the funeral of one of two abducted Iowa cousins whose remains were later found.
The service for Elizabeth Collins was held Saturday at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Elizabeth was laid to rest in a wooden casket inside a burial vault painted pink.
Pink and purple balloons were later released into the air.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier (http://bit.ly/17E9fc3 ) reports Elizabeth’s mother, Heather Collins, says the service offers closure for her daughter’s three siblings.
But she says she doesn’t think there will be closure for others until a person is found that may be involved in her daughter’s death.
Elizabeth and her cousin, Lyric Cook, went missing in July. Hunters found their bodies in December.
A private funeral service for Lyric was held last month.
