Search widens for clues on missing Minn. woman

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Stearns County authorities have joined the search for clues to the disappearance of an Eden Prairie woman whose ex-boyfriend committed suicide outside the Eden Prairie police station.

Eden Prairie police say they believe the ex-boyfriend, 24-year-old David Roe, likely traveled in parts of Stearns County after he was last seen with 24-year-old Mandy Matula, so officials there joined in the search Sunday. Police also say unspecified items of interest led to a search in Carver County Sunday.

Other searchers found pieces of tissue paper in Eden Prairie Sunday with what appeared to be blood on them. Police later confirmed they were not related to her disappearance.

Matula has been missing since leaving her family’s home late Wednesday. She was last seen with Roe, who shot himself Thursday and died Friday.
