ROLFE, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a school bus carrying more than a dozen students has been involved in a crash in northwest Iowa.
The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle rear-ended the bus around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday while it was stopped at railroad tracks on Highway 15 in Rolfe.
Authorities say bus driver Dean Williams, of Pocahontas, and his 15 passengers, were not hurt and the bus had minimal damage.
The car driven by 19-year-old John Simpson, of Rolfe, was totaled. He and another passenger were taken to Pocahontas Community Hospital. The hospital would not release information about their conditions.
Simpson was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
