CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — The developer has released a master plan and conceptual drawings for a $90 million plan to redevelop Westdale Mall in Cedar Rapids.
Drawings released Wednesday by Frew Development Group, LLC, depict national retailers and restaurants on the 72-acre property, along with fountains, walking paths and green space.
Frew says the goal is to turn the 34-year-old property into a vibrant, multi-use “lifestyle destination” that will be an asset to the neighborhood.
Frew said the plan will be presented to the city council for approval, and construction could begin this summer. It’s hosting an open house Wednesday evening to discuss the plan.
Frew on Tuesday appointed Lisa Rowe as the property’s general manager. Rowe has worked the last 13 years as a marketing director at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids.
