Hundreds rally for Minn. gay marriage bill

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Hundreds of supporters of gay marriage in Minnesota have rallied on the eve of a historic vote in the state House.

A standing-room-only crowd filled Christ Lutheran on Capitol Hill Church in St. Paul for a Freedom to Marry Vigil on Wednesday night.

Those attending wrote the names of people important to them on paper hearts. After the hourlong interfaith vigil, the crowd marched in the rain to the state Capitol and placed the hearts at the top of the steps for lawmakers to see.

The House is scheduled to debate and vote Thursday on a measure that would make Minnesota the 12th state in the country to allow gay marriage.
