A record 12,374 votes were cast for KIMT’s Male Athlete of the Year.

5,445 (44%) of those were for Clear Lake’s Brice Wilcke, a senior that finished second place at the Iowa High School State Wrestling Meet.
It was Wilcke’s first ever trip to the state meet and says the nerves played a role early on, but once he settled down and focused on wrestling, he was able to go on a roll.
Charles City’s Adam Staudt finished in second place with 5,320 votes (43%).
