MASON CITY, IA-A north Iowa man charged with murder was in court on Friday.
36-Year-old Aaron Harris is facing first-degree murder charges in the strangulation death of his girlfriend, Sarah Winters.
She was found in an apartment on north Washington Avenue in Mason City in July of last year.
Harris’ trial is expected to start next week.
Today was all about getting some issues straightened out before the trial begins.
Aaron Harris did make an appearance with his attorney, Sue Flander.
They’re asking the court for permission to play a portion of the interrogation video in which Harris is alone in the room for hours.
They say it will help let the jury know the state of Harris at the time.
However, the state claims the hours of video is not relevant.
The judge is taking the weekend to make a decision on the motions.
We should have the answers by Monday.
The trial is expected to start on Tuesday.
