KIMT NEWS 3 – The latest drought monitor report is bringing some mixed news.
The recent rain is moving some much-needed moisture into our area. Conditions in the region range from no drought to moderate drought.
Agriculture experts said this will likely have local farmers breathing a sigh of relief.
“The good news is we’ve gotten this moisture to come in and we’re really kind of thankful that the rainfall is happening. We’re getting things back to where they kind of should be, a little bit more normal situation,” said ISU Worth County Extension Education Specialist.
But, he adds, there is some bad news too. The recent rain and snow has caused some delays and farmers haven’t been able to get out in the fields to plant.
