MASON CITY, IA — A man accused of attacking four women last week is now behind bars.
On Thursday, Mason City police announced they were searching for 22-year-old William Evans. They suspected him in an assault that happened Wednesday night on the 300 block of North Adams Avenue. Officers said Evans was walking with a woman he knows, began assaulting her, and also assaulted three other women who tried to help the victim.
Arrest records with the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office show Evans was arrested on four assault-related warrants at his home at 6:48 p.m. Saturday. He is now being held in the county jail on charges of felony domestic assault (strangulation), as well as three counts of serious assault. Bail is set at $8,000.
