Mason City, IA – Folks in North Iowa are pushing for a place for their pets.

Just north of Mason City, five acres of land has been set aside to become a dog park.

But, if organizers can get enough support this month, there’s a chance they could get thousands of dollars for their project.

It’s through a national contest called “Bark for your Park”.

Dog Park Advocate, Laura Grommesh, says the funds are much needed.

“If we get in the top 15 we will be entered into a contest to win 100,000 dollars and that 100,000 dollars would give us our absolute dream dog park,” said Grommesh.
