AUSTIN, MN — The focus today in Austin is on figuring out how to attract a young workforce and growing local companies.
Those topics are part of a yearly meeting of the Development Corporation of Austin.
The DCA supports new and existing businesses and ideas.
Bob Kill is the President and CEO of enterprise Minnesota and was today’s keynote speaker.
“Manufacturing and the supply chains are so important to our communities,” Kill said. “You think of the number of companies that supply package goods to Hormel and across the Midwest. It’s a great connection.”
He says it is getting harder to find young experienced workers in the manufacturing industry.
And that it is important to create visibility so that people can learn more about job opportunities within the field.
