Mason City, IA – A new state patrol vehicle will be making its way to the Mason City area.
And officials say it will be a great addition.
The Department of Public Safety announced they will be adding eight Humvees to offices across Iowa.
And Mason City made the cut.
The vehicles will be used for emergency situations.
And Sergeant Richard Pierce, with the Iowa State Patrol in Mason City says it will help out immensely when severe weather hits.
“When we have blizzards we’ll be able to get around helping people who are broken down or they get stuck, and we don’t want to have anybody out there staying over night and die because of the cold or such. These Humvees will allow us to get through the snow,” said Sgt. Pierce.
The office is expected to receive the Humvee sometime this summer.
