Authorities in Mitchell County are asking people not to travel after dark because of flooding throughout the county. They’re asking people to only use the roads in case of emergency.
KIMT News 3 is receiving several reports of damage in this afternoon’s severe storms.
Mitchell County Emergency Management is reporting that a barn collapsed onto a cattle herd three miles west of Osage, killing some cows. Reporter Levi Ismail found several incidents of damage including a shed being moved roughly 100 feet.
Floyd County Emergency Management is reporting that a barn collapsed north of Nora Springs, several trees were uprooted, and one tree fell on a house.
Thunderstorm wind damage is being reported four miles northwest of Rochester.
