KIMT NEWS 3 — If you are like many, your wallet has probably been taking a hit when you fill up with gas lately, but those high prices should soon be working their way back down.
Experts from gasbuddy.com say the worst is behind us, and the worst is pretty bad.
Iowa is currently averaging $4.02 a gallon.
Minnesota is even worse; it has the highest gas prices in the continental 48 states, averaging $4.27 a gallon. Only Hawaii is higher at $4.32.
Those experts said refinery issues were the cause of the high priced gas. They said pending any unseen problems, gas prices should start working their way down as early as Wednesday and stretch through the weekend.
