AUSTIN, MN — All the rain is an unwelcome sight for holiday campers, but many still made the trip outdoors.
More than 1,500 people came to Beaver Trails Jellystone Park in Austin.
The park had to deal with some significant damage a week ago, when Rose Creek flooded because of all the rain.
However, Park Leaders say it was still a great week, as everyone pitched in to get the grounds ready for this long weekend.
“I can’t believe how fast we’ve been able to recover,” Co-Owner Tammy Westrich said. “Between the staff, the families and everybody that has helped pitch. They’ve brought in tractors, families have brought in backhoes. We’ve had the community here helping us out.”
Despite the wet weather, she says Families participated in many activities to make it a fun-filled weekend for everyone.
