Cedar Falls district names new superintendent

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — The Charles City schools superintendent has been chosen to lead the Cedar Falls school district.

The Cedar Falls school board announced Wednesday that it had selected Andy Pattee, who has been serving as dual superintendent for the Riceville School District.

The 38-year-old Pattee is a Humboldt native and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1998. He earned his doctorate in education from Drake University.

Pattee is expected to begin his Cedar Falls job on July 1.

He will be replacing Mike Wells, who announced his resignation after a year on the job when it became clear his contract wouldn’t be renewed.
