Iowa doctor pleads guilty to sexual exploitation

HAMPTON , Iowa (AP) — A 40-year-old doctor in northern Iowa has received a suspended sentence and probation after pleading guilty to one count of sexual exploitation.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports ( ) Dr. Brian Justin Hansen of Hampton was sentenced Thursday in Franklin County District Court to a five-year suspended sentence and five years of probation. He pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist.

Hansen had been charged with eight counts of sexual abuse or exploitation in connection with seven victims.

The sentencing was part of a plea agreement.

The Iowa Board of Medicine suspended Hansen’s license last September.
