WORTH COUNTY, IA – A crash involving a car and a semi in North Iowa forces law enforcement to re-route traffic and sends at least one person to the hospital. Mercy Air Med was called on scene to Worth County on Thursday evening.
It happened on Highway 65, not far from the Iowa Minnesota border. Authorities say the car was turning left to head south on 65 in front of the northbound semi. The collision knocked the car into the ditch. The semi driver was ok, but the driver of the car was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City. A stretch of Highway 65 had to be shut down and traffic was rerouted. The road is now back open.
