Davenport man found guilty of manslaughter

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — A Davenport man has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and a weapons charge stemming from a fatal shooting in front of Col Ballroom more than two years ago.

The Quad-City Times says (http://bit.ly/137Pl7N) 21-year-old Robert Williams was convicted on Wednesday in Scott County District Court. Williams had been charged with first-degree murder in the May 7, 2011 slaying of 19-year-old Michael Williams. They were not related.

Police say a fight erupted in the center after a concert and continued outside in the street and parking lot. Michael Williams and at least three other people were shot.

Two others charged in the case took plea deals.
