ALBERT LEA, MN — Folks in Albert Lea are all about planning ahead.

And they’re working now; to make sure the skies will be bright on the Fourth of July.

Several groups are out around town today, as part of their 4th of July Fireworks Fundraiser.

They’re looking to raise money to buy fireworks for the big show, especially since it’s something lots of people look forward to each year.

“People ask me all the time, ‘how do you do this in one day?’ part of it is tradition,” Executive Director of the Albert Lea- Freeborn Chamber of Commerce Randy Kehr said. “Part of it is people know how good the fireworks are and they are willing to contribute.”

The groups working to raise the money include the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce .and “KATE/KCPI Radio.”

The goal of the fundraiser is to bring in 16,000 dollars.
