MASON CITY, IA – After 25 years serving the County of Cerro Gordo as the head dispatcher, Pam Ricke is retiring.
Pam has worked in law enforcement for more than 30 years and Friday was her last day at work.
She says it started to hit her when she was driving into work this morning, and realized it was the last time she’d be making that drive.
Pam says working as a dispatcher has been a rewarding experience.
“You know you’ve helped someone, you know your officers are safe when they go home at night and it’s a very rewarding job.”
Pam says now that she’s retired she plans on spending a lot of time with her grandkids and working in the garden.
