AUSTIN, MN — Drivers in southern Minnesota need to be ready to take some alternate routes.
The changes will mainly impact the Austin area.
Starting today, MnDOT has closed the eastbound Oakland Place to Eastbound Interstate 90 entrance ramp until Wednesday.
The closure allows workers to repair concrete along I-90.
MnDOT officials tell us it will be the first of many to happen this summer, while the project is underway.
“We will be closing all the ramps through Austin at sometime during the duration of the project before the middle of July,” Project Engineer Paul Schauer said. “They could be closed anywhere from three to four days, down to just a few hours depending on the amount of work that is necessary on the ramps. “
He adds they will have detours in place for the most traveled ramps to help direct drivers.
