ST. PAUL, MN – Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie announced today he will not seek a third term in office. Ritchie says he will serve out his current term, which runs until January, 2015.
“This was a difficult decision for me. But after months of thought and discussion with family, I concluded that January 2015 will be the right time for me to step aside — making way for the next generation of talented leadership in the Office of the Secretary of State,” said Ritchie.
Ritchie, of Minneapolis, was elected in 2006 and again in 2010.
